Jordan Davis transformed himself from a Nashville newcomer into a countrywide chart-topper in 2018, inspired by the old-school songwriters of his parents’ generation and the high-production dynamics of modern country radio.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1988, country singer Jordan Davis has Southern music roots that run deep—not only is his brother also a country singer, but his uncle, Stan Davis, wrote multiple hits for Billboard-topping country singer Tracy Lawrence. It would be putting it mildly to say that Davis grew up around music, but, ironically, he didn't pursue it as a career until after finishing his degree in conservation at Louisiana State University. Moving to Nashville in 2012, Davis would be exposed to a bright, hard-hitting world of singer-songwriters, citing John Prine and Jason Isbell among his favorites. Synthesizing his influences, Davis worked to come up with a smart, R&B-flavored brand of country rock, and he signed with Universal Music Group Nashville in 2016.

“I never felt drawn to one specific genre,” he remembers. “I was just drawn to songwriting. It didn’t matter if I was listening to folk music or southern rock — if it was a well-crafted song, it would pull me in.”

Davis' 2021 eight-song EP “Buy Dirt” and its' title track is now one of the top streaming songs in country music and received a nomination for Musical Event of the Year on the 55th Annual CMA Awards, Davis’ first of his career.

Davis co-wrote every song on his EP "Buy Dirt" except for the John Prine inspired “Blow Up Your TV,” who Davis cites as one of his most important influences on his life and music. The EP features country superstar, Luke Bryan, who lends his vocals on the vulnerable title track and centerpiece of the EP, which Davis released to country radio as his latest single.

With the "Buy Dirt" single currently sitting at #1 on the 10 on the Billboards Country Hit List we are thrilled and honored to have Davis performing live on the Armory Music Hall Stage.
